Double Side Vented Endodontic Irrigation Needle – Closed Tip
An advanced endodontic irrigation needle featuring dual lateral side vents and a closed rounded tip for superior irrigant distribution, enhanced canal debridement, and significantly reduced risk of apical extrusion. An upgrade over single side-vent designs for more demanding irrigation protocols.
Key Features
- Dual Side Vents: Two lateral openings create a bidirectional swirl effect within the root canal – superior irrigant turbulence and debris removal compared to single-vent designs
- Closed Rounded Tip: Blunt, non-penetrating tip prevents apical tissue damage and canal wall perforation
- Reduced Apical Extrusion Risk: Lateral flow design prevents high-pressure irrigant delivery beyond the apical foramen into periapical tissues
- Enhanced Canal Coverage: Dual vents ensure more uniform irrigant distribution throughout the canal system, including lateral canals
- Flexible Shaft: Allows passive placement to working length in curved and narrow canals
- Luer-Lock Compatible: Fits standard irrigation syringes for easy chairside use
Clinical Advantage Over Single Side-Vent Needles
Single side-vent needles deliver irrigant in one lateral direction. The double side-vent design creates a 360° swirl effect, improving irrigant contact with all canal walls and enhancing smear layer removal and disinfection efficacy.
Indications
- Root canal irrigation with NaOCl, CHX, EDTA, or H₂O₂
- Final rinse and smear layer removal protocols
- Passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI) adjunct
- Curved, narrow, and complex canal systems
- Regenerative endodontic and apexification procedures
