DPI MTA (Mineral Trioxide Aggregate) is a biocompatible endodontic material formulated as a fine powder for smooth, easy mixing, handling, and placement. Widely used across a range of endodontic and pulp therapy procedures, it provides an excellent seal and promotes hard tissue formation at the application site.
Key Features:
- Fine Powder Formulation – ensures smooth, homogeneous mix for easier handling and precise placement
- Biocompatible – excellent tissue tolerance and promotes hard tissue (dentine bridge) formation
- Superior Sealing Ability – hermetic seal at perforation sites and apical barriers
- Radiopaque – clearly visible on radiographs for post-treatment assessment
- Moisture-tolerant setting – sets in the presence of tissue fluids
Indications:
- Apexification – creation of apical plugs in teeth with open apices
- Root Perforation Repair – sealing of iatrogenic or pathological root perforations during root canal therapy
- Internal Root Resorption Treatment – filling and sealing of resorptive defects
- Pulp Capping – direct and indirect pulp capping to preserve pulp vitality
- Apical barrier formation in immature permanent teeth
How to Use:
- Mix MTA powder with sterile water on a glass slab to a putty-like consistency.
- Carry to the site using an MTA carrier or amalgam carrier.
- Condense gently into place and verify radiographically.
- Place a moist cotton pellet over the material and seal temporarily; allow to set (3–4 hours).
