The Electronic Typodont is an advanced orthodontic training and simulation system designed to provide dental students and orthodontists with a more realistic wire bending and tooth movement experience than conventional wax typodont systems.

How It Works:

Unlike traditional wax typodonts that require external heat to soften the entire wax base before teeth can move, the Electronic Typodont uses electric current delivered via connected wires directly to the metal roots of the typodont teeth. This precisely melts the wax only around the roots, enabling more accurate and controlled tooth movement simulation — closely replicating the biomechanics of real orthodontic tooth movement in patients.
