    Description

Primary impression compound is a thermoplastic material used for making preliminary impressions in edentulous cases. It softens when heated and adapts to oral tissues, capturing accurate details of the dental arches. This compound is commonly used for complete denture fabrication, border molding, and tissue adaptation. It provides excellent stability and ease of manipulation, ensuring precise initial impressions. The material hardens upon cooling, retaining the impression shape without distortion. Due to its moldability and controlled setting properties, it is ideal for use in prosthodontic procedures. Primary impression compound ensures proper adaptation and serves as a foundation for secondary impressions, aiding in the fabrication of well-fitting dentures and other prosthetic appliances.
