- Moisture-Tolerant: Demonstrates excellent moisture resistance, which helps maintain its integrity and effectiveness in the moist environment of the root canal.
- Biological Activity: Promotes the healing and regeneration of periapical tissues, contributing to better clinical outcomes.
- Ease of Use: Available in a user-friendly syringe format, facilitating straightforward application into the root canal.
- Low Shrinkage: Minimal shrinkage upon setting helps maintain a tight seal, reducing the risk of microleakage.
- Antimicrobial Properties: Helps to inhibit bacterial growth, further supporting a healthy environment for healing.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for various endodontic procedures, including obturation and sealing.
SafeEndo BioActive RCS is a bioactive mineral root canal sealer based on innovative mineral micro-aggregate chemistry “Active Biosilicate Technology” that offers.
Advantages :-
- Biocompatibility: high mineral purity and monomer free formulation reducing the risk of adverse tissue reaction.
- Bioactive properties: hydroxyapatite formation at the tooth-sealer interface and mineralization of dentinal structure.
- Alkaline pH.
- Sealing properties: crystallization of the material inside the dentin tubules creating a tight seal.
- Retreatable : if a retreatment is needed, BioActive RCS can be easily removed from the root canal.
Indications :-
Permanent root canal filling in combination with gutta-percha points in vital or necrotic pulp cases or after a retreatment procedure. BioActive RCS is suitable for use in single cone technique or cold lateral condensation.
Important :-
- BioActive RCS does not suffer setting contraction;
- BioActive RCS can be used, in addition to conventional techniques, in singlecone technique and thermoplastic filling;
- Use conventional gutta removal techniques.
- Composition: Made from bioceramic materials that promote tissue healing and biocompatibility.
- Indications: Designed for use in root canal treatments.
- Setting Time: Typically has a fast setting time.
- Radio-opacity: Provides visibility on radiographs for better assessment during and after treatment.
- Moisture Resistance: Exhibits excellent resistance to moisture.
- Biological Activity: Promotes healing and regeneration of periapical tissues
Preparation:
- Ensure all instruments and materials are sterile and ready for use.
- Wash hands and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Accessing the Canal:
- Use a dental drill to create access to the root canal if not already done.
- Identify the canal orifice using a mouth mirror and explorer.
Irrigation:
- Begin with irrigation using an appropriate solution (e.g., sodium hypochlorite) to cleanse the canal before applying BioActive RCS.
Mixing the BioActive RCS:
- Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for mixing BioActive RCS components (if applicable) to ensure proper consistency and effectiveness.
Application:
- Using a suitable applicator (e.g., a syringe or endodontic plugger), place the BioActive RCS into the prepared canal.
- Ensure the material fills the canal adequately, reaching the apical area without creating voids.
Setting:
- Allow the BioActive RCS to set according to the manufacturer’s recommended setting time. Ensure the environment is suitable for optimal curing.
Final Irrigation:
- After the material has set, perform a final irrigation to remove any remaining debris and ensure the canal is clean.
Obturation:
- Once the canal is clean and dry, proceed with the obturation process, using gutta-percha or another suitable filling material to seal the canal.
Post-Procedure Care:
- Dispose of any used materials according to local regulations.
- Ensure proper cleaning and sterilization of reusable instruments.
